About The Position

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a substitute AMT instructor that will be responsible for the education and supervision of the students in their charge utilizing curriculum which follows the Airman Certification Standards (ACS), occupation-based curriculum design, delivered in a flexible manner as individual student needs dictate to develop knowledge, skills, work ethics, and compatible attitudes for employment.

Requirements

  • Current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificates Required
  • 2 Years Minimum Experience Commercial/Defense Experience Required
  • General Aviation Experience Preferred
  • Highly-skilled in computer-related communication, word-processing, and school-related technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Oklahoma statute.
  • Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in the classroom, laboratory/shop and/or work-based learning environment as established by State, National and/or District standards and requirements.
  • Concurrently facilitate student learning at varying skill levels and multiple stages within the program.
  • Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
  • Manage classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Uphold and manage student behavior expectations consistent with district/program guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional relationships and behaviors with colleagues and students.
  • Use appropriate and effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
  • Maintain certifications consistent with FAA and district guidelines.
