About The Position

Arc Broward is seeking an enthusiastic Substitute ESE Teacher to support students transitioning from high school to prepare for the adult services arena, with a focus on employment and workforce. This role involves assisting and supporting students in developing strategies, making informed choices, following through on responsibilities, and taking risks. The teacher will use effective communication skills to build rapport with all stakeholders. For long-term assignments, the teacher will participate in student TIEP meetings, maintain collaborative professional relationships with students and interdisciplinary team members, adhere to ethical standards, and recognize personal limitations. The role also includes contributing to program evaluations and setting organizational priorities to ensure quality.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, social services, education, or related services field.
Must have ESE Teacher Certification upon hire.
Minimum of 1 year experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Valid FL driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen.
Must be 21 years older or older.

Responsibilities

Assists and supports the student to develop strategies, make informed choices, follow through on responsibilities, and take risks.
Uses effective, respectful, sensitive communication skills to build rapport and channels of communication to all stakeholders.
For long term substitute assignments, participates as an active member of the students’ TIEP meetings.
Maintains collaborative professional relationships with the student and all interdisciplinary team members (including family/friends), follows ethical standards of practice (e.g., confidentiality, informed consent, etc.), and recognizes his or her own personal limitations.
Contributes to program evaluations and helps to set organizational priorities to ensure quality.
