About The Position

Substitute Assistant Teacher (Part-Time) Union County Community Action, Inc. is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. This position is a strong fit for dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children and can adapt to different classrooms and daily needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Haves

• EDU 119 or CDA preferred
• Experience working with young children preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities
• Support children’s learning and development
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
• Assist with meal service and daily routines
• Support positive interactions with children and families
