About The Position

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. This position is ideal for dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children and can adapt to different classrooms and daily needs. The role offers flexible work that makes a difference in the community.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Nice To Haves

• EDU 119 or CDA preferred
• Experience working with young children preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities
• Support children's learning and development
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
• Assist with meal service and daily routines
• Support positive interactions with children and families
