In this part‑time role, you will deliver in‑person instruction for multi‑week substation apprentice schools, using established curriculum designed to train the next generation of substation professionals. You will teach four structured apprentice programs per year (1st–4th year), along with one week of preparation time before each session.

Requirements

Journeyman Substation Electrician (or equivalent documentation).
4–5+ years of hands‑on substation experience.
Working knowledge of breakers, relays, grounding, and substation mechanical/electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom instruction for 10‑hour days (Mon–Thurs).
Present and explain substation equipment, safety practices, and field procedures.
Facilitate hands‑on demonstrations in labs or training yards.
Manage classroom environment, trainee engagement, and safety expectations.
Prepare curriculum materials.
Coordinate with other instructors and subject matter experts.
Conduct occasional site visits to substations or training labs.
