Leidos is seeking a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to join their Substation South Group. This role involves designing substation protection and control projects for electric utilities, with voltages ranging from 12kV to 500kV. The position offers exposure to the power systems industry, including how renewable energy integrates into the electric grid. Candidates will utilize their knowledge of digital logic design and AC/DC circuits for substation electrical projects. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days in the office (Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Orlando) for collaboration and networking, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will be hired at the Mid, Senior, or Lead Level. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design and planning activities for electric transmission, distribution, and substation facilities, including preparing single-lines, schematics, and wiring designs, as well as performing quality control checks. Responsibilities also include preparing studies and reports for transmission and distribution systems.
