About The Position

Mesa Associates, Inc. seeks a Substation P&C Engineering Associate to design and/or check deliverables for high-voltage substations. The role involves developing design documents using Autodesk products, primarily AutoCAD Electrical, and working under the direction of a P&C Group Lead. The position is part of PDS 6 / Power Delivery Substation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program.
Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
0–2 years of experience in the design of substation P&C deliverables.

Nice To Haves

Expertise using AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE).
Knowledge of power systems or substation design.
Keen interest in learning and using the latest Autodesk software tools, methods, and technologies to develop power substation designs.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

Complete assignments within budget and schedule with a high degree of accuracy.
Work under the direction of a P&C Group Lead.
Use AutoCAD Electrical (ACADE)-based protection and control standards.
Prepare technical deliverables and other project documents.
Ensure deliverables comply with IEEE and/or client standards and meet applicable design requirements.
Design and/or check substation deliverables, including One Line Diagrams, Control House layouts, Relay Panel Front Views, Elementary and/or Schematic Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Bills of Materials, and Cable Schedules.
