About The Position

Mesa Associates is hiring a Substation Physical Technologist for its Power Delivery Substation group. The role supports physical design of power substations, ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV, and involves working with an experienced, collaborative team to develop design skills and project packages that follow applicable standards and are suitable for construction. The position offers opportunities for innovative problem-solving and development in the power industry. Candidates with power substation engineering design experience in the U.S. power industry are preferred, though transferable experience from similar industries may be considered; entry-level applicants may also apply. A bachelor’s degree is required. This is a hybrid home-and-office position, with in-office work required and residence within the Knoxville, Tennessee area.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree from an established or recognized university.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work in the Knoxville, Tennessee area and attend the office as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience in power substation engineering design within the U.S. power industry.
Transferable experience from a similar industry.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
