This Opportunity Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, design, development, and construction of utility, industrial, and commercial scale projects in the public and private sector. Routinely assist with the research, design, concept development, and construction of transmission and distribution substations, power distribution, power regulation, renewable energy, as well as protection and control systems in a wide variety of contexts (utilities, transportation, building, and Federal, State, and local government projects). Substantiates reports and documentation regarding material, installations, component, and construction specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact Apply extensive technical expertise and full knowledge of related engineering disciplines, serving as a technical authority and trusted advisor for facilities, equipment, and program functions. Lead complex and innovative engineering assignments requiring the development and implementation of new or improved techniques, procedures, materials, equipment, and methods. Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on projects and contracts, coordinating with senior internal and external stakeholders while operating with a high degree of autonomy and setting technical objectives. Provide technical leadership by assigning, directing, mentoring, and reviewing the work of engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and support staff across multiple projects or major project components. Lead and support projects of moderate to large size, scope, and complexity, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, technical principles, and organizational requirements. Develop, review, and approve technical deliverables including designs, calculations, testing plans, specifications, reports, bid documents, and engineering standards. Provide field engineering leadership and oversight for installation, testing, inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution activities across multiple concurrent projects. Conduct advanced technical research, analysis, and evaluations to support design decisions, equipment selection, system performance, and field applications. Verify site conditions and lead resolution of complex engineering, construction, and operational issues encountered during project execution. Represent the organization in bid and proposal processes by preparing technical content, conducting evaluations, and providing recommendations for selection. Resolve difficult technical and business issues through clear, precise, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks by applying sound engineering judgment to design strategies, construction methods, and remediation plans. Collaborate with cross functional teams including project management, project controls, construction, procurement, permitting, and document control to ensure successful project delivery. Support budgeting, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, and work order management activities related to engineering project execution. Maintain required technical, safety, and regulatory training and apply knowledge to evolving project and business needs. Participate in field engineering on call support on a rotational basis, providing expert technical guidance during emergent situations (typically once every eight weeks). Perform additional responsibilities as required to support operational, project, and business objectives. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
