About The Position

ISG is seeking a Substation Engineer who will be responsible for the design and procurement for substation projects. This role may also serve as a technical specialist for substation projects. The Power Group and MEQ team within ISG’s Energy Business Unit play a vital role in delivering resilient infrastructure solutions, supporting projects and clients local to Cleveland, OH.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree required.
  • 3+ years of previous consulting or substation engineering/design experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • EIT certification preferred.
  • May be working towards PE License certification.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project Engineer on routine to complex, single-discipline projects and routine to complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Interface with clients and vendors.
  • Create One Line Diagram, Three-line Diagrams, AC and DC schematics and wiring diagrams, and Protection & Control Diagrams for High Voltage Substations.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within the company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
  • Check the progress of work and alert the Project Manager to needed changes to the scope or other services.
  • Perform necessary field measurements independently.
  • Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to the building code and client standards is required.
  • Promote the use of and participate in the development of company design and production standards.
  • Assume responsibility for engineering within his/her discipline for routine projects.
  • Perform and may direct construction support/management on routine and simple projects.
  • May direct construction observation of others on simple projects.
  • Assist drafting and design staff as a resource for design questions.
  • Manage & Coordinate drafters and designers in drafting required drawings for substation projects.
