About The Position

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, provides technical and construction services for critical electric infrastructure. The Substation Engineer performs engineering work focused on physical and protection-and-control substation design. The role involves substation systems from 34.5 kV to 500 kV and requires familiarity with the principles of high-voltage substation engineering design. The position is based in Dashiell’s office at 1575 Sawdust Rd, Suite 300, The Woodlands, Texas, and reports to the Senior Director of Engineering. Depending on experience, successful candidates may be placed as a Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or Lead Engineer. The engineer works with project teams to prepare design documents and drawings, perform engineering calculations and software-based studies, coordinate project work, and support construction through site visits. The role requires attention to design quality and accuracy, application of relevant engineering standards, and effective communication with project engineers, customers, and other stakeholders. Short periods of out-of-town travel may be required. Dashiell offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. The company provides life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, long-term disability insurance, and an employee assistance plan at no cost to employees. Other benefit offerings include a choice of traditional PPO or one of two HDHP plans, corresponding FSA or HSA options, dental and vision coverage, supplemental life insurance, short-term disability insurance, critical illness insurance, group accident insurance, hospital indemnity insurance, and a 401(k) with immediate vesting. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without visa sponsorship.
