This position currently offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement (remote/on-site) with time regularly spent in the office. Job Summary The Substation Engineer is responsible for the design and material specification for new substations, modifications to existing substations and maintenance of existing substations. This position is expected to apply sound and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices as well as make independent decisions concerning assigned projects. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of the design and function of substation components, control systems and general site layout requirements. This position is part of the Substation Engineering Group which is responsible for scope development, project cost estimates, design, materials procurement, contractor administration and design review, project management/support and construction interface for capital projects. The group is also responsible for assisting in the development of substation maintenance plans and activities, associated projects, and responding to substation equipment failures and related emergent events.
