The Substation Commissioning Intern gains foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in commissioning, providing technical support with the inspection, validation, and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment. The intern primarily assists senior team members by following structured test scripts, setting up test equipment, and supporting compliance with safety and reporting standards. The work is performed under immediate supervision, using instructions and pre-established guidelines, and in alignment with organizational goals, values, and departmental objectives. The role includes assisting with on-site inspection, testing, and validation; developing commissioning plans, checklists, and test scripts; reviewing construction-related design documents, drawings, and specifications; and preparing project and final commissioning reports. The role is remote within the United States, requires proximity to a major airport, and involves up to 75% domestic travel. Relocation may be considered for long-term project needs, and international travel may occur depending on project needs and skillset development. The position offers a structured growth pathway toward Technician II, where the employee gains greater autonomy in executing tests and troubleshooting.
