About The Position

The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and case management for patients. The role includes coordinating, planning, and engaging in education programming services to support patients in recovery. The position is based at the Greater Lakes Spanaway Clinic, with Puyallup listed as the main location in the requisition. The schedule is 0800 to 1630 on the day shift, at 1.0 FTE.

Requirements

• Current Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional certification.
• At least one year of recent work experience as a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP).

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform substance use disorder assessments in office-based, inpatient, or community settings as necessary.
• Develop treatment plans, monitor patient progress, and conduct individual and group counseling sessions in accordance with MultiCare policies, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Respond to community referrals to conduct substance use disorder assessments, make treatment recommendations, and coordinate care effectively, efficiently, and safely.
• Provide care coordination and case management services, brief therapy, and motivational interviewing, focusing on rapid placement into the least restrictive appropriate level of care.
• Develop relationships with community resources and create treatment and safety plans to help individuals and their natural and professional supports resolve chemically induced crises.
• Provide patients and professionals with accurate program and agency resources, and connect them with those resources.
• Complete all required documentation.
