About The Position

Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring a Substance Use Disorder Counselor to walk alongside patients recovering from opioid and other substance use disorders. Through individual sessions, group counseling, and personalized treatment planning, you'll help build a safe, steady foundation for people at the start of their recovery journey — in an outpatient setting much like a behavioral health clinic. We're looking for someone who: Thrives in a consistent, outpatient schedule Is passionate about serving diverse communities, including clients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds Wants ongoing clinical growth — CMS supports your path to full licensure and CAADC certification if you're not there yet

Requirements

Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
Licensure (or limited license) as an LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW
CAADC certification — if you don't already have it, we'll support a development plan to help you get there
Clinical supervision is available to support your path toward full licensure and certification

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload in compliance with regulatory standards and ratios
Conduct individual counseling sessions and facilitate group and educational sessions
Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments and individualized treatment plans
Evaluate treatment effectiveness on an ongoing basis and adjust care plans as needed
Coordinate care with other providers and community-based services, including referrals and case management documentation
Involve family and natural supports in treatment, per each client's preference
Maintain thorough, compliant client records (Full list of responsibilities shared during the interview process.)
