Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must hold an ADT designation.
  • Must be able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings.
  • Ability to interact professionally in both individual and group counseling settings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with participants, other staff, and leadership personnel and react quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the Department of Corrections.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Experience providing human service functions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, scores, and interprets all required screening and assessment tools including but not limited to the Texas Christian University (TCU) Drug Screen, Treatment Assignment Protocol (TAP), and the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA).
  • May also use other assessment and substance abuse evaluation tools to support the level of care American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) placement.
  • Conducts screenings and assessments during the intake process and back-end screenings for standing populations.
  • Conducts post-testing for participants as they go through the program.
  • Interviews participants to collect additional data not covered by the above assessment tools.
  • Maintains participant files.
  • Provides screening and assessments, individual substance abuse counseling and group substance abuse counseling.
  • Completes biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, discharge summaries, daily productivity trackers.
  • Maintains clinical chart per the Code of Maryland (COMAR) regulations and requirements.
  • Complete discharge and aftercare plans.
  • Participates in All Staff Meeting and Workplace Violence Meetings.
  • Actively participates and attends clinical supervision.
  • May participate in other Participant-Staffing Meetings, Case Consultations.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
