About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a licensed Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join their team at the new LSS Neillsville Center, a comprehensive, trauma-informed Substance Use Disorder treatment facility offering DHS 75 and DHS 83 licensed services, including gender-specific programming for men. The role focuses on empowering individuals to achieve sobriety and long-term wellness.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in a human services or correctional field
Valid SAC-IT, SAC, or CSAC (or qualifying experience/education for case management)
Knowledge of addictions, recovery principles, and AODA regulations
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree
1+ year experience working with a correctional population
Experience providing substance use counseling in residential or outpatient settings

Responsibilities

Provide substance use counseling and/or case management services in residential and outpatient settings
Complete assessments, screenings, diagnostics, and referrals (ASAM, SUDDS, DSM/ICD-10 as applicable)
Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions
Deliver case management and coordinate community, social, and mental health services
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with DHS, federal, and agency standards
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners
Serve as a positive role model for clients and families
Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, and ongoing training
