About The Position

Outpatient MAT Opioid Treatment Program seeking a Substance Use Counselor with LCAS, LCAS-A, LCSW-A, LCSW, CADC credentials. This full-time position involves early morning and Saturday hours, offering a great work/life balance and opportunities for growth. The Fayetteville Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), part of Acadia Healthcare, focuses on providing medication-assisted treatment and compassionate counseling for patients recovering from Opioid Use Disorder. The Substance Use Counselor Lead plays a crucial role in this process, offering support through individual and group counseling, modifying behaviors, and potentially counseling patient families.

Requirements

  • Minimum education as required to obtain certification or licensure in the state the facility operates applies
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university
  • Master’s degree: Minimum 6 years counseling work experience
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree: 8 years of work experience; or
  • No degree: 10 years of counseling work experience
  • Experience providing counseling in an addiction recovery, detox, substance use disorder (SUD), or opioid treatment program (OTP) environment
  • Licenses/Certifications: LCAS, LCAS-A, LCSW-A, LCSW, CADC

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer a Master’s degree in social or health services from an accredited college or university
  • Prior knowledge/experience working with MAT (medication-assisted treatment) is highly preferred
  • Previous experience providing guidance and direction to others

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individual counseling sessions, as scheduled and documents
  • Conducts group and/or family sessions, as scheduled and document
  • May co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions
  • Responsible for initial patient assessments, as well as follow up assessment
  • Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned patient
  • May act as a liaison between referral sources and patient
  • Provides crisis intervention to patients, as needed
  • May plan for aftercare for assigned patients
  • May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested
  • May provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care
  • Evaluates patient’s needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed
  • Ensures all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents are completed timely and in a clear, concise manner and within policy guidelines
  • May assist in the training of new clinical staff and interns
  • May serve as lead for the team coordinating the activities of other clinical or direct patient care personnel, providing direction and clinical guidance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
