The Westchester Assessment and Referral Program (WARP) is embedded within the Westchester County Department of Social Services (DSS). Samaritan Daytop Village’s WARP addresses the toxic link between child abuse/neglect and parental alcohol and drug addiction. Under general direction, the Substance Use Counselor works collaboratively with the Westchester County Department of Social Services Child Welfare Unit and their Caseworkers to determine the level of care for individuals undergoing child protective investigations, families receiving preventative services and foster care, and PINS Diversion. The Substance Use Counselor will conduct a substance use assessment, including clinical evaluations and referral to appropriate treatment and services when necessary via home visits. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
