About The Position

The Substance Abuse Worker supports residential substance use disorder treatment programs within the Division of Rehabilitation and Reentry by providing supervision, daily living assistance, and structured support to clients in a 24/7 facility setting. The role helps maintain a safe and orderly environment, contributes to treatment team operations, and ensures consistent monitoring, documentation, and client engagement aligned with program standards.

Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.

Flexibility to work any shift (3rd, 2nd, and 1st) to staff the 24/7 operation of these facilities; according to the need.
Employees may be assigned to work 8 or 10-hour shifts 4 or 5 days a week.
Shift Premium Pay is also available in addition to the base salary for employees assigned to 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Accommodate modifications to work schedules including hold-over or schedule changes on short notice to provide critical operational needs.

Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor clients in a residential treatment environment and conduct routine safety checks.
Support clients with daily living needs, including hygiene, meals, and medication management under supervision.
Facilitate structured group activities and assist with treatment‑related educational sessions.
Document client behaviors, progress, and incidents in an accurate and timely manner.
Respond to crisis situations and assist in de‑escalation and stabilization efforts.
Transport clients to scheduled appointments, meetings, and program activities.
Collaborate with treatment staff to support individualized treatment plans and program operations.
Maintain facility cleanliness, security, and adherence to established rules and procedures.
