About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is a nationwide network of drug and alcohol rehab centers with eighteen locations across seven states. The company is seeking talented, passionate clinicians to join their team. This specific role is for Substance Abuse Counselors for their Outpatient Program located in Metairie, LA. The work environment, Avenues Extended Care, is an intensive outpatient facility providing clinical drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. It offers a robust yet flexible schedule of individual and group therapies and holistic arts, ideal for clients transitioning from inpatient treatment. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling or related field required
Valid state licensure / certification necessary to practice in this role, i.e. LPC, LCSW or CIT
Substance abuse experience required
Excellent observational, collaborative and interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Compassionate, dignified character which models recovery principles
Ability to set strong boundaries and maintain absolute confidentiality

Responsibilities

Conduct group therapy, psychoeducation, and process groups designed to meet each client's challenges and needs
Assist clients in developing healthy coping skills, positive behaviors, and recovery tools
Collaborate consistently with clinical staff to keep track of client challenges and progress
Escalate any significant client concerns to Clinical Director
Maintain thorough documentation of all group sessions conducted
Ensure all clinical assessments and individual client charting is completed
