Substance Abuse Counselor - Myrtle Beach, SC
About The Position
Crossroads Treatment Centers is seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to provide individual counseling to highly complex patients. The role involves conducting clinical assessments, designing and updating patient treatment plans, managing caseloads, and collaborating with nurses and providers for holistic treatment. This position is crucial in helping patients with opioid use disorder start their path to recovery through evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Crossroads has been a leader in treating opioid use disorder since 2005, offering accessible, high-quality care across multiple states.
Requirements
- General experience working with underserved populations in a clinical setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
- Must be licensed or certified in SC.
- Candidate must be willing to start early in the morning, as work hours start at 5:00 AM.
- No legal impediments to serving in a licensed opiate treatment program.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Lived addiction experience is a plus.
- Master’s degree in a behavioral health field preferred.
- Experience treating opiate-addicted patients is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provides individual counseling to highly complex patients.
- Conducts clinical assessments to appropriately assess patient’s treatment needs.
- Designs and updates the patient’s treatment plan, including care coordination, referrals, and discharge planning.
- Manages assigned caseload and compliance with clinical treatment requirements.
- Collaborates with nurses and providers to provide holistic treatment services.
- Facilitates urine drug screening for patients.
