About The Position
MHM Services of California, a Centurion company, is seeking a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor to join their team at Coalinga State Hospital in Coalinga, CA. This role involves coordinating all substance abuse/addiction program activities in a correctional setting, including providing intake, assessment, treatment planning, and group and individual counseling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification or be actively working toward attaining a substance use credential within two (2) years of hire
- Must show/obtain current Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) documentation for tuberculosis screening
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to pass and maintain a security background clearance
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in a human services or related field preferred
- May substitute higher education for experience but must hold a four-year college degree and possess a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC)
