About The Position

As a member of the clinical team, the counselor will work under the supervision of the Program Director to deliver addiction treatment services to clients. This role involves providing substance abuse counseling services to patients/families, including psychosocial assessment and treatment, short and long term, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling. The counselor will carry an active caseload of patients, complete all intake forms, conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain progress notes. Responsibilities also include participating in weekly staff meetings, case conferences, training, and monthly supervision. The role requires educating patients on substance use/abuse, MAT, and NRT, managing written and electronic patient records (knowledge of STARS and HRA2010E is necessary), and participating in agency-sponsored and community outreach events. The counselor will also provide necessary reports, case records, documentation, and statistics, and possess working knowledge of the referral process for aftercare and other concrete services. Additional duties include conducting weekly random urines, monitoring medication, and conducting monthly fire drills as assigned by the Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and CASAC/CASAC-T require.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services field.
  • Counseling experience required.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Computer Skills is a requirement.
