Substance Abuse Counselor - CSAC
About The Position
At Wood Violet Recovery, a residential treatment center located in southwest Wisconsin, the Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) will provide compassionate, evidence-based care for adults overcoming substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This role involves both individual counseling and group facilitation, aiming to help clients rediscover hope, rebuild confidence, and create lasting change. The position focuses on fostering growth through connection, education, and therapeutic experiences, enabling clients to develop skills and insight for sustained recovery.
Requirements
- Active CSAC in the state of Wisconsin (required).
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.
- Valid WI Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screen.
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily group substance use, educational, process, and recovery-focused groups.
- Provide timely counseling sessions to an assigned caseload of clients.
- Develop and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with clients while supporting their individual recovery goals.
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in treatment planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Encourage client engagement while promoting a safe, supporting therapeutic environment.
