Substance Abuse Counselor (LCAS) – Full-Time
About The Position
Pyramid Healthcare is actively seeking a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) to join our dedicated behavioral health team in Jacksonville, NC. Requirements
- Active LCAS licensure in North Carolina (required)
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health field
- Valid driver’s license required
Nice To Haves
- Experience in substance use disorder (SUD), mental health, trauma-informed care, or co-occurring treatment settings
- Group therapy facilitation in residential or outpatient settings
- Experience with evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, MI)
- Familiarity with ASAM criteria or utilization review processes
- Experience working in structured clinical treatment programs
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments and biopsychosocial evaluations
- Provide individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR/ECR)
- Participate in utilization review (UR) and treatment planning meetings
- Support aftercare planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care
- Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation support when needed
- Contribute to program development, curriculum enhancement, and staff training
- Participate in on-call rotation as assigned
- Maintain compliance with all state regulations, licensing standards, and company policies
