About The Position

Bridgeway Community Health is seeking a qualified Bilingual Substance Use Counselor for its new Outpatient office in Woodburn, Oregon. A sign-on bonus of $3,000 is available to new external candidates. The role involves working with a passionate team dedicated to transforming lives and restoring relationships. The Substance Abuse Counselor builds alliances with clients, providing education and motivation to support positive life changes and reduce the negative consequences of substance use. This role utilizes client-centered, evidence-based, and trauma-informed services, employing motivational interviewing techniques to build rapport and facilitate engagement. Responsibilities include conducting assessments using ASAM and DSM-5 criteria, collaborating with other providers, delivering evidence-based interventions, facilitating groups, and conducting individual counseling sessions. Accurate and timely documentation, including group and individual notes, status reports, and other client-related contacts, is essential. The role also involves monitoring random urinalysis testing and completing monthly status reports.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • At least one to three years of drug & alcohol addiction counseling experience.
  • CADC I certification or higher with MHACBO.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English).
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer and time management skills.
  • Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM-5.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules.

Responsibilities

  • Provides client centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma informed services.
  • Uses motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active engagement in services.
  • Conducts assessment interviews using the ASAM and DSM-5.
  • Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless.
  • Provides evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.
  • Facilitates evidenced based groups.
  • Conducts individual counseling sessions.
  • Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation including group notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts made concerning the client.
  • Monitors random urinalysis testing.
  • Completes monthly status reports for all clients on caseload and facilitates sending them to providers involved with client's care.
