About The Position

Provides school-based substance use prevention and intervention services as part of the district’s comprehensive mental health team, supporting student success and well-being. This role delivers early intervention and targeted support for students and families. Collaborates with school leadership, staff, district mental health professionals, and community partners to align services with school and district priorities. Use data to guide decision-making and improve outcomes. Contributes to a safe, supportive learning environment that promotes achievement for all students.

Requirements

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Master's degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work, or similar field
  • One (1) year of professional work experience
  • Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider (SSP) license
  • Ability to assess and provide prevention and intervention services for students at risk of substance use/abuse

Responsibilities

  • Provide school-based, multi-tiered counseling, social, emotional, and behavioral intervention services, and ongoing direct services to students with high risk of substance use/abuse, groups, and parents/guardians.
  • Maintain relationships with community agencies and resources; coordinate referrals and access to prevention, intervention, and treatment services.
  • Implement evidence-based prevention programming aligned with school and district priorities; deliver universal and targeted supports that promote protective factors and reduce negative risk-taking behaviors.
  • Collaborate with school administration, teachers, district mental health staff, and student support teams; consult to identify student needs, align services, and support academic and behavioral success.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to inform interventions, monitor student progress, and guide program improvements aligned with district requirements.
  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and district initiatives to strengthen practice and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
