About The Position

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Subsidy Intake Assistant. Under general direction, this position will perform complex paraprofessional functions involved in regulating and monitoring the adoption assistance program. The position will assign subsidy packets to regional DCFS Adoptions staff for review and approval and will monitor and track assignments to ensure compliance with timeframes. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is detail oriented and interested in playing a supporting role in the Department’s adoptions operations. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school
  • Requires 2 years of office experience
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Subsidy Support Clerical Associate
  • Receives and assigns subsidy packets to regional DCFS Subsidy Support staff for review and approval
  • Answers incoming phone calls and greets visitors
  • Establishes and maintains files
  • Keyboards travel vouchers from handwritten materials
  • Serves as backup timekeeper
  • Maintains updated Rules and Procedures Manuals
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
