We are seeking a Subscriber Programming Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop, review, test, and deploy subscriber-radio codeplugs for customer and partner-agency operations. This position ensures programming is accurate, secure, interoperable, and aligned with approved system designs, standards, fleet maps, and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years programming Motorola P25 subscriber equipment
  • Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, testing, and deploying subscriber-radio codeplugs for LMR, P25, encrypted tactical communications systems
  • Technical knowledge of radio-programming standards, interoperability requirements, firmware and flash updates, and encryption configurations
  • Experience managing subscriber fleet maps and operational codeplugs
  • Experience in a federal law-enforcement or comparable public-safety communications environment
  • Ability to coordinate and support large-scale field-programming activities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the DHS suitability determination required for access to systems and facilities
  • U.S. citizenship required because the position involves the operation, management, or maintenance of DHS IT systems

Responsibilities

  • Review TACCOM-related codeplugs used by the customer and partner agencies for interoperability, accuracy, and functionality
  • Ensure codeplugs align with system designs, established standards, and operational requirements
  • Coordinate requirements with OCIO TACCOM Regional Program Managers, customer offices, partner agencies, and programming teams
  • Develop, test, validate, and support deployment of efficient subscriber programming
  • Coordinate field-programming deployments with the area of responsibility, regional program manager, and programming team
  • Support programming events, codeplug updates, firmware and flash updates, encryption changes, and subscriber configuration activities
  • Troubleshoot programming, interoperability, encryption, and subscriber-performance issues
  • Document programming actions, configuration baselines, test results, and status
