About The Position

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University is seeking a non-tenure track Subject Matter Course Instructor for the NU Global program on the Boston campus. NU Global specializes in innovative educational programs for international students, offering ESL and content courses to prepare them for undergraduate and graduate studies at Northeastern University. The College of Professional Studies, established in 1960, is part of Northeastern University, a research university. It provides lifelong experiential learning across more than 90 programs, both on campus and online. Please note that Northeastern University will not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position, and the successful applicant must maintain valid work authorization in the United States independently.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field (PhD candidates preferred).
  • At least two years of experience teaching in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate with peers on student success strategies.
  • Must be able to maintain valid work authorization in the United States throughout the entire appointment without Northeastern University’s sponsorship for a visa.

  • PhD candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach semester-based courses including Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Sociology of Boston, American History, American Government, Philosophy, Technology & Human Values, Precalculus, Calculus 1 and Calculus 2.
  • Work with global student populations.
  • Manage teaching loads ranging from three to eighteen hours per week.
