About The Position

Assembly of component parts used in assembly of boats such as ballast tanks, fuel tanks, heaters, stereo and electrical components.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to work at, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs, traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the work day.

  • Prior woodworking, construction, and/or mechanic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Apply high energy, self-motivation, and initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and processes.
  • Ability to use safely and effectively high-speed pneumatic and battery powered power tools (drills, drivers etc.), hand tools etc.
  • Must be able to read drawings and specifications
  • Complete required documentation of finished parts for production purposes
  • Daily job duties will be varied and dynamic. Workload will be tracked via daily schedules and assignments requiring responsibility and accountability for quality and timeliness of completion.
  • Ability to perform job functions safely and effectively in a fast-paced, noisy environment while wearing all required PPE (including eye, hearing, etc.).
  • Practice good housekeeping.
