About The Position

We are seeking A Sub Arc Welder who performs combo welding on all components and completes exchanger units, including shell and bundle fabrication, shell assembly, and tube-to-tube-sheet welding. The position requires working in a heat exchanger job shop or field fabrication environment, following strict ASME codes and standards, and maintaining compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; equivalent experience accepted.
• Proficiency in at least two of the four required welding disciplines; ability to read and interpret weld procedures, fabrication drawings, and requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Heat exchanger job shop or field fabrication experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform submerged arc welding of shell, bundle, and tube components according to assigned Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), including amperage, preheat, interpass temperatures, consumable size, and travel speed.
• Execute personal quality control of welds, ensuring correct type, size, and absence of defects such as undercut or buckshot.
• Correct non-conforming welds and perform grinding/cleaning to meet quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace using proper cleaning equipment.
• Follow weld shop QC practices and consumable traceability for each job/work order.
• Perform other welding methods as assigned by supervision.
