About The Position

Student interns will support the Student Affairs Department in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive co-curricular program designed to enrich the student experience. This program promotes student growth through social, cultural, recreational, and educational activities. The intern will coordinate with internal departments, external organizations, and entertainers, while maintaining regular communication with students, faculty, and staff. This position is fully in-person and based on campus.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Be enrolled part-time (7+ credit hours) or a full-time student at Dine College in the Fall 2026 semester
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at Dine College and have completed at least 24 credit hours at the College.
  • Must be in good academic and social standing.
  • Ability to perform accurate, detailed, and high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and collaborate professionally with members of the campus community.
  • Ability to adapt and perform efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
  • Ability to adhere to established work rules, follow directions, manage time effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in operating an office workstation and utilizing standard office software, including word processing, spreadsheet, and related applications.
  • Ability to comply with and follow all applicable College policies and procedures, plus the College's 3P Manual and Student Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in group settings.
  • Dependable, responsible, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of personal accountability.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Moderate experience with audio and visual setup, including basic troubleshooting for meetings and events.
  • Knowledge of and experience using integrated software systems and Microsoft Office applications, with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, and support meetings and special events efficiently and professionally.
  • Ability to perform moderately complex clerical duties, including assisting with data collection, compiling statistics, and maintaining long-range calendars for multiple venues and programs.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple recreational, educational, and social programs simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards, while remaining adaptable to varied work settings as needed.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, based on programmatic and operational needs.
  • Average ability and good physical condition.
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy materials weighing up to approximately 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Work may require sitting, near vision use for reading and computer use, lifting, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and other physical exertion.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Navajo culture and language preferred.
  • Ability to speak fluently in Navajo, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal/external agencies and within the campus community.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and disseminate publications related to student activities and student services.
  • Assist in preparing and editing fliers, posters, literature, and other materials prepared for on-campus distributions.
  • Obtain information from commuters and residents through surveys and data collection on related topics and student activities.
  • Schedule appointments for meetings and events, file, sort mail, perform data entry, manage event equipment inventory, and run errands on campus.
  • Organize the booking of facilities, training sessions, workshops with other departments, community organizations, and student clubs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information exposed in the course of business regarding students, supervisors, or other employees.
  • Contribute to a safe educational and working environment by participating in all drills and training and being prepared to take action should a health or safety emergency occur.
  • Promote co-curricular activities in the areas of Physical Health and Wellness for the college community.
  • Host workshops, promotional booths, and participate in recreational/engagement planning.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, faculty, and campus partners to support collaborative projects and data requests.
  • Utilize standard office and research software, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and data visualization tools to complete assigned tasks.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities, and meet established deadlines with minimal supervision.
