About The Position

Sharkey's Cuts for Kids — an award-winning children's (age 0-14) salon franchise with over 200 locations — is opening a brand-new salon in Westwood. We're hiring founding stylists to join our team for opening day. We are local owners who believe in taking care of the people who take care of our clients. We respect your time, we understand the industry grind, and we are building a salon where stylists actually want to come to work. Smiles and a positive attitude are a must, and we treat all our team members like family! This job is different because it focuses solely on kids' cuts with no chemicals or color, offering clean, fast haircuts in a fun environment with themed chairs, Xboxes, and streaming. The salon offers family-friendly hours with no late nights and major holidays off. Tips are paid instantly via Tippy, never pooled. Supportive ownership is a key aspect, with local owners who value team member input.

Requirements

Genuine love for kids and high-energy family environments
Active Massachusetts cosmetology license. Aesthetician and nail licenses do not qualify.

Responsibilities

Provide kids' haircuts in a fun, fast-paced environment
Make nervous kids laugh and anxious parents feel at ease
Keep your station clean and your tools ready
Recommend retail products when it makes sense
