About The Position

Moredun Scientific is seeking a Study Director to join the Animal Health division. The Animal Health team conducts efficacy and safety studies evaluating innovative vaccines, therapeutics, and other animal health products for veterinary use in livestock. You will also be involved in the development and validation of infectious disease models. Moredun Scientific is a contract research organisation specialising in animal health and aquaculture product development and biosafety testing of biopharmaceuticals.

Requirements

• Degree in a life sciences discipline.
• Experience of working in a biological laboratory environment.
• Practical laboratory experience of working with pathogens.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills and effective organisational abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Home Office individual licence holder.
• A good understanding of quality management systems (eg VICH-GCP, GLP).
• Experience of working with livestock.
• Contract research or project management experience.
• A good understanding of livestock infectious diseases and the use of challenge models.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines for safety and efficacy studies for veterinary medicinal products.
• A clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Study Director/Investigator for non-regulatory and regulatory studies appropriate to your level of experience.
• Play a supporting role in other studies with requirements ranging from routine laboratory and live-phase support to developing areas of expertise and assuming responsibility for specific work areas.
• Perform specific laboratory tasks such as tissue culture or Home Office licenced procedures.
