About The Position
FOX News is hiring a Freelance Studio Technician for the Broadcast Engineering division of its Los Angeles Bureau. The team designs, implements, and maintains systems that support the Los Angeles operation and minimize workflow interruptions. The role supports facility operations, operates and maintains broadcast studios, and provides on-site technical support to editorial staff. The technician must be available to work either 1:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.–3:00 a.m., with flexibility to work weekends and between both shifts as needed.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant technical experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience.
- Ability to create and modify schematic diagrams using AutoDesk AutoCAD and LucidChart.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to move and carry industry equipment; frequent movement between two floor levels is required.
- Flexibility to work either scheduled shift, weekends, and varying hours as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
- Experience using 3D design software to print broadcast parts.
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot broadcast studio systems and equipment.
- Provide on-site technical support to editorial staff.
- Create and modify facility system schematics using AutoCAD and Lucidchart.
- Analyze facility systems and recommend workflow and efficiency improvements.
- Troubleshoot computer, printer, electrical circuit, and field equipment issues.
- Diagnose equipment failures and support overall facility operations.
