Requirements

HS Diploma (or equivalent) is required.
A minimum of 3 years of recent experience as a broadcast technician, master control technician, technical director, or similar role in a news environment.
Previous experience in a medium to major size market is required.
Ability to operate live broadcast production equipment.
Excellent communication skills and news judgment.
Solid understanding of live production environments, specifically news production, is required.
Experience with automated control room environments.
Must be able to sit and stand for an extended period.
Ability to take direction and work under deadline pressure, consistently displaying a professional demeanor.
Positive and supportive newsroom citizen.
Candidate will also be required to join the I.A.T.S.E Local 819 union.

Nice To Haves

Vocational/technical school, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Fill a variety of production roles and prep material for our broadcasts.
Operate in a fast-paced, live production control room and studio.
Perform functions including, but not limited to, technical director, audio operator, robotic camera, and/or floor director.
Interact effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management.
Other duties as assigned.
