About The Position

Little, a nationally recognized "Best Firm to Work For" and a progressive design firm, is seeking an exceptional Studio Principal to lead its Community Studio in Charleston, SC. This role requires a positive, collaborative work style and a commitment to the firm's values of Care, Stretch, and Spark. The ideal candidate will have the drive and ability to grow the local portfolio of K-12 schools, Higher Education, Recreation, and Civic projects. This individual will be an ambitious, creative leader passionate about improving client performance through collaboration and innovative thinking, aiming to transform the established studio into a regional powerhouse.

Requirements

  • Registered Architect.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Community (K-12, Higher Education or Civic/Justice) architecture & design industry.
  • Experience as an account or client manager, including financial management.
  • Experience managing a team of people.
  • Strong track record of developing new business.
  • Existing relationships with Community-based clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong listening skills and genuine interest in people.
  • Ability to build followership among teammates and clients.
  • Resourceful and creative problem solver.
  • Motivated and energetic.
  • Interest in the drivers and ideas impacting the current and future Community industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Community Studio in Charleston, SC.
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategic plan to grow the Studio and client mix in collaboration with the Office President and Community Practice Leader.
  • Assume leadership of existing projects and a team of talented architects.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Mentor team members and ensure their professional development.
  • Manage client relationships and project goals from inception.
  • Drive new business development within the Community sector.
  • Contribute to the firm-wide Corporate Leadership team.
