About The Position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a dynamic Studio Liaison for Seat Subsystems to join their product development team. This role serves as the crucial link between the creative Design Studio and engineering teams, focusing on seat subsystems. The primary mission is to translate artistic vision into feasible engineering solutions, ensuring CAD concepts meet aesthetic, user experience, engineering, functional, regulatory, cost, modular design, and part reuse requirements. The role also involves analyzing competitive benchmarks to inform design and engineering strategies. The Studio Liaison will champion engineering, cost-effectiveness, and product lifecycle perspectives within the design process, facilitate communication, and proactively resolve conflicts between design intent, technical feasibility, budget constraints, and strategic goals early in the development cycle. This is an opportunity to influence vehicle interiors by working cross-functionally to deliver world-class seat subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the crucial link between the creative Design Studio and engineering teams, specifically focusing on seat subsystems.
  • Translate artistic vision into feasible engineering solutions.
  • Ensure CAD concepts capture desired aesthetic and user experience.
  • Ensure CAD concepts comply with engineering requirements, functional specifications, regulatory standards, critical cost targets, and strategic imperatives for modular design and maximum part reuse.
  • Analyze competitive benchmarks to inspire and inform design and engineering strategies.
  • Champion engineering, cost-effectiveness, and strategic product lifecycle perspectives within the design process.
  • Facilitate effective communication between design and engineering teams.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential conflicts between design intent, technical feasibility, budget constraints, and strategic goals early in the development cycle.
