About The Position

The Studio Host/ess (Part-Time) at Saint Kate, an artisanal American cuisine restaurant on the hotel's second floor. As a Host/Hostess, you set the tone for our guests as you lead them to their table for a delectable meal. Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel offers a modern, luxury experience with artistic flair. With a prime location in Milwaukee's Theater District, Saint Kate serves as a creative hub for the city, where every aspect of the hotel is inspired by music, painting, sculpture, and design. Requirements

• No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
• Ability to read, speak, and write the English language, to fully comprehend guest requests, memos, and reservations.
• Maintain a clean environment and ensure area is always organized.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items and multi-task.
• Ability to move through a crowded room to seat guests.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work POS system, Open Table computer and cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, check reservations, and log arrivals.
• Answer phones and manage voicemail.
• Escort guests to their table, provide menus, and introduce their server.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Handle reservations and arrangements for restaurant functions.
• Assist wait staff and bus staff as needed.
• Help with BEOs for private functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
