About The Position

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a Studio Communications Specialist to establish a centralized, reliable source for studio communications, simplifying information access and fostering connection across their Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Montreal locations. The position involves collaboration with various departments and individuals across the studio, from artists and engineers to senior leadership. This role is ideal for someone early in their communications career who excels at writing, information organization, and is enthusiastic about contributing to a film studio environment.

  • Proven experience in building or significantly contributing to an intranet, wiki, or similar internal site.
  • 2–4 years of experience in internal communications, content creation, or a related field such as HR.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels, from senior artists to executive leadership.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain relationships with production, creative, and leadership teams.
  • Strong time management, sequencing, and multitasking abilities.
  • Capacity to handle ambiguity and bring order to complex situations.
  • Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly and understand the workings of a film studio.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working in the film industry.

  • Manage the content calendar, determining the rhythm and sequencing of communications around studio events, holidays, and key moments across all three sites.
  • Conduct regular pulse checks, analyze data, and gather user feedback to propose adjustments and improvements to the communication hub.
  • Ensure the communication hub remains current, accurate, and trustworthy.
  • Consider the needs of all three sites, including the Montreal team, and address challenges related to languages and timezones.
