About The Position

As an LNG intern, this position supports the LNG Management Team by performing engineering assignments with some guidance from operations department. This position will gain knowledge of LNG/LPG facilities and processes by supporting Operations. Requirements

  • Strong Interpersonal communication skills & attention to detail.
  • Independent in performing & figuring out how to accomplish challenging tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • MS Office skills; Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Work environment at times will be outdoors during inclement weather.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devises using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and makes suggestions on engineering documents including: Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Heat and material balances, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Equipment data sheets, Vendor data, Commissioning procedures, Start-up procedure, Performance test procedures, Performance test calculations and provided recommendations
  • Participates in HAZOP and HAZID reviews.
  • Develops and/or reviews process modifications made during LNG facility on-going operations.
  • Gains knowledge of LNG process engineering and related engineering disciplines that include: instrumentation, controls, electrical, civil, mechanical, environmental, safety and drafting.
  • Assists in developing and/or reviewing project economic justifications as necessary to support proposed changes to plant assets.
  • Participates in the procurement process of bidding technical contracts.
  • Assists in supporting Operations staff in resolving technical problems and in engineering capital projects for plant modifications.
  • Participates in the development of operating philosophies and detailed operating procedures.
  • Reviews operating procedures for compliance with the operating philosophy.
  • Proposes changes to operational procedures and process improvements based on observations of facility operating performance.
  • Assists with developing training programs.
  • Assists in initial and periodic performance tests.
  • Attends construction meetings.
