About The Position

This is a student job funded through the Illinois Clean Jobs Workforce Network Program through the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity. The primary duties involve providing assistance to the CEJA Aurora Network Hub team in creating usable workspaces. This includes light cleaning tasks, preparing walls for painting (cleaning, spackling, sanding), painting various spaces, moving furniture, and light construction such as assembling furniture.

Requirements

Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester, acceptable remedial courses or continuing education courses, such as the CEJA Program.

If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to the CEJA Aurora Network Hub team in their efforts to create usable workspaces.
Assist in light cleaning tasks to prepare the Aurora Workforce Hub for light renovation work.
Prep walls (light cleaning, spackling, sanding) for painting under the instruction and supervision of a staff member.
Paint the office space, classrooms, conference rooms, restrooms and the inside exterior walls of these spaces under the instruction and supervision of a staff member.
Assist in moving furniture to set up classroom spaces under the supervision of a staff member.
Perform light construction as needed (assembling of stools, work tables, etc.).
