About The Position

Works under close supervision to provide support to department(s) and perform duties which may be simple to moderately complex in nature. Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a vital role in supporting the course. These student workers assist by guiding their peers through coursework, answering questions, and providing logistical support. At the start of each session, TAs take attendance, and by the end, they ensure that each group has met the session's objectives. Additionally, TAs are instrumental in preparing, proctoring, and grading the exams that are part of the course. Performs a variety of duties to include, but are not limited to, basic administrative and service related functions. May assist staff with day to day operations. May participate in basic to moderately complex projects as requested by supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in or able to provide proof of enrollment in high school or institute of higher education
  • May be required to have specific field of study or education according to assigned area
