About The Position

This is a face-to-face part-time opportunity. The Student Worker Undergrad Faculty Assistant will assist instructors in the College of Engineering & Technology. Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance, and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession. The role requires the student to be enrolled at Grand Canyon University (GCU) as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program and maintain specific GPA and academic standing requirements.

Requirements

  • B or higher in assigned course.
  • Must be able to communicate topics as assigned by instructor.
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Responsibilities

  • Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
  • Observes students’ performance, and records relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress.
  • Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material.
  • May facilitate additional lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture, office hours maybe required.
  • Assists with grading assignments.
  • Work hours must be completed at assigned class time.
  • Office Hours must be conducted face to face in office or classroom building.
  • Proctors occasional make up examinations/assignments.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
