About The Position

The Blinn College District is hiring a Student Worker - Student Engagement for its Brenham Campus. The role assists the Dean of Student Engagement across various departments. The worker checks students in for services, supports students with class registration in Academic Advising, provides front desk coverage, maintains a clean, safe, and functional area, greets students and campus visitors, and provides information about the academic accommodations process. The position is part-time, non-exempt, and pays $11.00 per hour, for a maximum of 19 hours per week. The worker may be asked to be flexible about their location on the Brenham campus. The target hire date is November 2, 2026.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Must be at least a half-time student.
• Must be in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to provide great customer service.
• Ability to treat students, parents, faculty, and staff courteously.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual speaking and writing skills.
• Experience with MyBlinn and its various functions.
• Experience navigating eCampus and its various functions.

Responsibilities

• Check students in for services within the Department of Student Engagement.
• Assist students with registering for classes in the Department of Academic Advising.
• Provide front desk coverage.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and functional area and facility.
• Greet students, faculty, administrators, and campus visitors.
• Provide information about the academic accommodations process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
