About The Position

This role involves performing maintenance and emergency repairs, completing minor repairs such as patching holes and painting, and repairing electrical and plumbing systems. The position also includes preventative maintenance, general equipment maintenance, and assisting with groundskeeping. A key aspect of this role is to monitor, supervise, and instruct student facility maintenance staff while performing all required job duties to ensure the facility is well-maintained. The individual must maintain a safe and healthful work environment and complete work order forms.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of crafts skills such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, landscaping, painting, etc.
  • Knowledge in the use of trade-related hand and power tools.
  • Attention to detail in building maintenance.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, supervise and instruct student facility maintenance staff.
  • Perform maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Complete minor repairs such as patching holes and painting.
  • Repair electrical receptacles, wires, switches, and fixtures.
  • Complete minor plumbing repairs such as replacement of sinks, water coolers, toilets, showers, and other plumbing items.
  • Paint as needed for touch up and after repairs.
  • Complete work order forms.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities and update related logs.
  • Hang and repair doors and install locks.
  • Replace broken windowpanes.
  • Perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to heating and cooling units such as replacing pumps, motors, and minor parts, as needed.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance by applying fertilizers and weed killers.
  • Maintain a safe and healthful work environment at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
