About The Position

The Student Worker - LTVN Managing Editor AY27 position at Baylor University is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the LTVN staff, reporting to the Executive Producer. This role involves managing staff, overseeing production nights, creating newscast elements, assisting with content development and editing, and handling social media postings. The position also includes producing video packages and promotional content, training staff, representing LTVN in various meetings, managing equipment inventory, and performing business operations duties. The role requires excellent customer service, initiative, and adherence to university policies.

  • Editing newscast scripts for clarity, precision, hook ledes and formatting
  • LTVN Social Media postings
  • Overseeing editing of newscast in post-production
  • Producing and reporting 1-2 packages per month
  • Producing 15-20 second topical promo each week on Wednesdays for message boards
  • Collaborating with Executive Producer to train staff members on capturing video, tracking audio and editing
  • Representing LTVN in communications with print editors, budget meetings, staff meetings and weekly content/feedback meeting with Director of Student Media
  • Managing equipment inventory and advising Director of Student Media of any equipment replacement or repair needs
  • Ensure video and packaged stories are saved on hard drive and servers
  • Perform business operations duties for assigned area of responsibility
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients
