The School of Music is looking for up to three enthusiastic students to assist in capturing our ensemble concerts and opera performances through dynamic, high-quality photography and videography. These high-quality assets will be used for our website, print materials, signage, social media, etc. and a variety of close-up and distant shots are essential. Someone familiar with music performance is preferred to understand proper etiquette when capturing live performances in a non-disruptive manner. Most concerts/performances occur at 7:30 p.m. in the evenings on campus and at 3 p.m. on weekends, usually no longer than two hours in length. All Photography/Videography student workers will be able to sign up for the concerts that they are available to capture on a first come/first serve basis. Sony camera equipment is provided for our students, but we will also need phone videos taken for more immediate use on social media. Technical knowledge and proper care of camera equipment are crucial, as well as the ability to physically carry equipment by yourself, including tripods. Photos and videos must be processed from raw format using Adobe Creative Suite (free for all students), and student workers should feel comfortable and confident editing/processing themselves. When submitting your application, please forward an online portfolio/gallery/social media link which highlights some of your recent work to [email protected].
